BOARD MEETING MINUTES
AUGUST 9, 2022

Meeting called to order at 4:02 PM by President Douthit.

Financial Report: See Handout
                            Normal progress.

Library Director’s Report:
       Roof Work: Still waiting for a start date.
       Staffing: 4 new PT people hired, 2 quit, will go back to search list before reopening
       search
       August is break month. Staff will be getting ready for September activities.
       Public Hearing: September 6. USDA loan. Asking for $300,000 for 10 years.
       Publication Notice: August 17 in Dickinson Press. Phase I of building project is
       $7,635,000. August 31, 10:30 AM City Hall.

Unfinished Business:
       Summer Reading: See Handout.
                Incredible growth over last year.

       Library Director Job Description: See draft.
                Description will be finalized and this board will approve by email.
                Then it goes to the City Commission for approval.

       Library Search Committee:
                Linda Carlson, Renee Newton, two people from this board will make up the
                committee.
                Mary Soucie may be a good resource for interview questions.

New Business:

       Library Rules of Conduct: See Handout
                 Lots of discussion. The rules will be worked on and we will discuss at the
                 next meeting.
