One conference/study room is available on the lower level of the library. This room can accommodate 10-12 people. Some restrictions apply to the use of this room.
Individuals and small groups whose purposes are limited to civic, cultural, or educational objectives may use the study room. Preference will be given to patrons of the Dickinson Area Public Library. The library’s conference/study room is primarily for the use of three or more persons. Groups will have priority. The conference room may be used for study by individuals over 18 or families when it is not otherwise in use. Students under the age of 18 must have a responsible adult with them at all times while using the conference/study room.
The following uses are strictly prohibited: buying, selling, advertising, or trading products or services (other than educational services) for cash or other consideration (except in support of the Library); and personal or family activities.
Those using the study room must adhere to the Library’s Rules of Conduct. Persons found eating or drinking, littering, engaging in loud, disruptive conversation or conduct, defacing library property, or otherwise acting inappropriately and/or irresponsibly while using the study room will be required to leave the room and the library immediately. Unattended children will be asked to leave and use of the room will be forfeited.
The study room has a two hour time limit and will be locked when not in use.
Reservations may be made up to one month in advance by calling the library at 456-7700. Reservations are made on a first come, first served basis. Reservations will be made for up to two hours only and limited to once per day. Time slots begin on the hour or half-hour. If an individual does not arrive within 15 minutes of their reservation time, the room may be let to another user.
Individuals who use the study room must provide us with an ID, i.e. library card or driver’s license; address and phone number and must sign in upon arrival and out upon departure. Individuals may not sign in early in order to “hold” the room.
